It has been reported in the press that 28 countries including the US, UK, China and the EU have signed the “Bletchley Declaration” at an AI safety summit held in the UK this month. The declaration acknowledges the seriousness of the threats posed by AI and signatories have agreed to work together on AI safety research. Further summits are planned in six and twelve months’ time.
