EDPB adopts 2026-2027 work programme

Earlier this month, the EDPB adopted its 2026-2027 work programme which is part of its broader strategy for 2024-2027.

In terms of practical guidance and tools for organisations to improve GDPR compliance, the EDPB plans to issue new guidance on key issues, including:

·       “Consent or Pay” models
·       anonymisation practices
·       the handling of children’s data
·       updating DPO guidelines
·       data scraping and AI, telemetry and diagnostics
·       scientific research
·       guidance to assist with consistent enforcement
·       the interplay between GDPR and other laws

To ease organisational compliance, the programme will provide practical resources such as:

·       templates
·       FAQs,
·       illustrative examples, and “how-to” guides

Planned templates include legitimate interest assessments, records of processing activities, privacy notices, data breach notifications, and DPIAs.

We will bring you updates as and when these arrive and you can find the work programme here.
