On 20 January 2026, the EDPB and EDPS issued a joint opinion on the AI provisions in the Digital Omnibus, which details recommendations in relation to various provisions. Notably, the EDPB/EDPS have asked the legislators to consider sticking to the original entry into force time table with regard to certain obligations under the AI Act, including transparency.
