NOYB files complaint about Google’s use of trackers

The privacy activists noyb have filed a complaint with the Austrian regulator accusing Google of tricking people into accepting tracking by Google, labelling this as an “ad privacy feature” and therefore failing to obtain valid consent for tracking.

Noyb argues that Google has concealed the fact that (while turning off third party tracking) turning on the feature will enable first party tracking and has used manipulative design to encourage individuals to sign up.

You can see more detail on the noyb allegations here.
