The UK’s consumer connectable product security regime came into effect on 29 April 2024 and businesses in the supply chain of these products need to comply with this regime.
Part 1 of the Act (and other subordinate legislation) relates to product security and sets new minimum security standards for internet connectable products including requirements in relation to passwords, information which needs to be published in relation to security update periods and reporting security issues.
The Department for Science Innovation and Technology has published guidance on the regime which can be found here.
