As part of its AI and Biometrics strategy, the ICO has recently released a report relating to the use of automated decision making for significant decisions in recruitment.
The key finding of the report was that many employers engaging in significant automated decision making for the purposes of recruitment are likely relying on solely automated decisions without meaningful human involvement and are failing to apply appropriate safeguards. The findings also suggested a need for employers to:

ensure consistency in meaningful human involvement

improve their practices in relation to monitoring for fairness and bias
