Joint report on measurement of age assurance technology commissioned by ICO and Ofcom

The ICO and Ofcom have published a joint report (which they commissioned) into measuring the accuracy levels achievable by different age assurance solutions.

This technical document forms part of the ICO’s ongoing research into the subject matter, which is being undertaken in order to inform their work going forward. The research will assist with establishing a method of measuring the effectiveness/accuracy of age assurance systems. The report has progressed this work but has also identified issues which require further research.

For those who are using age assurance technology, it will be worth keeping an eye on how this research progresses.

The full research report can be found here.
