On 8 June, the US and UK announced their intention to create a data bridge between the US and the UK. The UK announcement describes the move as a “commitment in principle”, arrived at after two years of discussions. The UK will obviously be watching the EU closely, as coming to differing conclusions about transfers to the US could have a significant impact on the UK’s adequacy status.
